For those who don’t know, I have a YouTube Channel titled “James Revels Composer” and I attach my original instrumentals to the MIDI visualizer “Synthesia” It would be so awesome if you listened and left some feedback. If it’s a true ear worm you should totally share it. Thanks for your time.
Lately, I’ve been doing some introspection and been feeling like my 3 blogs haven’t had much direction or form. This has diminished content as well as motivation so I’ve taken the last few month to brainstorm ideas. On June 20th, Summer Solstice, I plan on rebooting all my blogs with refined content that I hope you guys will enjoy. In the meantime, if you want to see what I’ve been up to follow my YouTube or instagram @jamesrevelsiii Have a great day!
I know I’ve been silent for a while but I’ve been taking the time to refresh myself. Boy am I refreshed and I have some stories I’d love to share.
First the New Suit. I decided a wardrobe make over was long overdue so I decided to get me a suit in order to have a more professional look. I prefer wearing button up shirts any way so it wasn’t much of a stretch. Here’s a selfie of me in it. (Follow my Instagram @jamesrevelsiii)
Second, My friends and I were walking down in Oregon District, a small strip of local businesses. We walked out the store and a lady with a camera asked if we wanted to have picture taken for Dayton.com so we did and we decided to dab for our city! (Shown below)
So I’ve decided do a daily music making challenge where I try to make a short 1 to 2 minute theme daily. I then create a visual version using the program Synthesia for my YouTube channel. Today’s piece is titled “Hope from Sorrow” .
There’s a poll above the video embed, Let me know what you think I’d love to hear from you. Subscribe to get the latest piece send directly to your YouTube feed.
So as some of you may know my life’s goal (Magnum Opus as I have called it in a former post) is to create a “Creativity Sanctuary” a creative center where mentorship centered around S.A.M.M. (science art math and music) inspired by the fact that I’ve been hinting four years for a mentor myself and have found none. Lately I have been writing down ideas for this creativity center and I decided on the name “The World of Forms”. The world of forms is Plato’s idea that there is a world of pure unchanging ideas and that the physical world is just imperfect yet varied instances (shadows) of said idea. So if creativity is the idea. The creations of the artist are the instances of creativity. More concrete details coming soon but for now here’s draft of logo
Since I have limited access to internet due to laptop running slow I haven’t been able to upload youtube content, music etc like I want so I decided my next project is going to be a book exploring my personal philosophy and philosophical topics in general. So in preparation for this project, I have wrote this article. Mind you I typed this from phone off the top of my head as a kind of “freewrite” so forgive me for any mistakes.
People sometimes ask what my religion is and I’ve never known what to say. This is my attempt to put a label on it. I call it…
Creative Pantheism. What is it? Well Pantheism is the belief that all things are God. I believe that everything and everyone is as to God as cells are to us. The sum of all the parts of this universe equal to God and each person or thing is designed to play a specific microscopic role even if we aren’t aware of its macroscopic implications. Creative Pantheism adds one more principle to Pantheism, that is, the idea that an act of creation and creativity is the universe’s purpose. I’ve always said “The universe is a void screaming to be filled.” But what about destruction? Well, destruction is a type of creation in the way that it frees up raw material to be rearranged like lego pieces (this is why I believe legos are so popular, they reflect a fundamental principle of the universe)
Boom! There it is, creative Pantheism.
Thanks for reading! If you enjoyed like, follow and share so you can be alerted when the next philosophical tid bit is released.
It’s official!! What is you ask? well I official have my own place no more coming home to mamma!!! lol It won’t be out of state or city like I wanted, but it’s a start towards bigger things. I’m excited. I’ll be away from internet so I’m going to curate some posts from now and move in day on May 8th. But I live close to the library so I won’t fall off the face of the earth I promise
